This picture was taken during the Bophuthatswana crisis. They were part of AWB convey that was firing into houses of black residents of poor neighborhoods.

AWB are Neo Nazis and people are calling them “heroes”.

AWB stands for Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging or Afrikaner Resistance Movement. It was a far-right Afrikaner nationalist, neo-Nazi, and white supremacist “political party”. It was a political party in the same sense the Nazi Party was a political party.

AWB’s goal was the creation of a Volkstaat/Boerestaat or “People's State” within South Africa. It would be an all white ethnostate comprised solely of Boer/Afrikaners.

This ethnostate was to be independent of Apartheid South Africa, as they thought Apartheid SA too “left wing and liberal”. This is how far right AWB was, they felt Apartheid did not go far enough. With that in mind their symbol design and colors makes sense.

AWB felt they had to regain the land that was “lost” during the Second Boer War. During the “State of Emergency” in 84-86 AWB’s violence against and murder of black South Africans was not challenged with an estimated half a million supporters of the “party”.

It wasn’t until 86 when White South African Police actually stood against AWB. SAP used riot agents against AWB when AWB disrupted a National Party rally.

AWB’s violence drastically increased in the 90s with the negotiations to end apartheid. At the Battle of Ventersdorp AWB attacked police at the town hall. AWB later stormed Kempton Park World Trade Centre, driving an armored vehicle into the building.

The 90s were marked with bombings and terror attacks from AWB members in a desperate attempts to prevent the end of apartheid. AWB set bombs at newspapers they felt were liberal, murdered black residents at fake road blocks and conducted random drive bys on black homes.

We now get to the Bophuthatswana crisis of 1994. The source of this picture. AWB and 90 Afrikaner Volksfront members entered the capital, Mmabatho, in an effort to defend the dictatorship of Lucas Mangope.

AWB and Volksfront members started terrorizing the black residents, shooting into houses and killing any black person they saw on the street. AWB found themselves under constant siege from Bophuthatswana Defence Force. This forced AWB to finally attempt to flee on March 11th.

Bophuthatswana police set up an ambush and caught a convoy of AWB shooting into houses of poor black residents while they attempted to flee Bop. The initial ambush killed one and injured 11 AWB members. The AWB vehicles managed to escape except for the last one.

This was the vehicle of AWB Colonel Alwyn Wolfaardt, AWB General Nicolaas Fourie and Veldkornet Jacobus Stephanus Uys. Their blue Mercedes was disabled. Fourie died instantly from a shot to the neck. Wolfaardt and Uys were wounded.

Wolfaardt fell out of the car holding a handgun but was disarmed by a Bophuthatswana police officer. Uys said “black bastards” before apologizing and pleading for his life. Journalists gathered around the car. This event would be reported on world wide.

Police told the journalists “We want to kill these fucking dogs. They have killed women. They are animals, not people.” The journalists spoke with Wolfaardt and asked if they were AWB. Wolfaardt confirmed they were and they came from Naboomspruit.

Wolfaardt then began to beg for their lives. His last words being “Please God, help us! Get us some medical help!" At the end a coward. The last words he heard were from a Bop police officer shouting “Who do you think you are? What are you doing in my country?"

The officer used his R4 rifle to put two rounds in Wolfaardt and Uys point blank. For good measure he put two rounds in already dead Fourie and kicked his limp body in the ribs.

The police officer was not charged official because he applied for amnesty to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, on the grounds that the killings were politically motivated. His request for amnesty was granted even with the protest of AWB and their families.

A more valid reason he should not have been charged is because they were Neo Nazi fuck heads & it was not a loss to humanity that they were removed. Anyone viewing those fucks as heros can follow their heros’ example. Your heros were cowards who cried and begged in the end.
